The Role
The primary objective of this internship is to improve the generalization of our speech enhancement algorithms, using semi-supervised and domain-adaptation techniques. Indeed, the mismatch between out-of-domain supervised training dataset and in-domain deployment conditions induces performance degradation.
You will work on the data used for training and testing our speech enhancement models and on the training pipelines (supervised and semi-supervised) to achieve maximum performances, particularly when access to supervised in-domain data is limited or unavailable.
In this context, your missions will be the following:
- Improve our current semi-supervised pipeline (developed for supervised out-of-domain and unsupervised in-domain data) and compare with state-of-the-art approaches.
- Research, implement and evaluate state-of-the-art domain adaptation techniques for speech enhancement applications.
- Set up training and testing datasets for semi-supervised and domain adaptation approaches (data recording, data cleaning and data generation).
- Implement data augmentation techniques and evaluate their relevance when the access to supervised in-domain data is limited.
- Work closely with our ML & AI engineers to develop a training pipeline as performant as possible.
Computing resources (CPU / GPU) will be made available to you. Your internship will take place on the company premises within the Advans Lab accelerator, in Vallauris (2323 Chemin de Saint Bernard, 06220). You will participate in the startup's team meetings and will be involved in the decisions related to your mission.
Who Are You?
- Student in engineering school or equivalent, you are preparing a Master 2 with a specialization in machine learning, data science, computer science, mathematics, signal processing.
- Your training has enabled you to acquire skills in the following areas:
. Signal processing, computer science, mathematics, and machine learning
. Deep learning with PyTorch
. Software development in Python
. Linux environment
- You are a creative and autonomous person
- You are interested in understanding and contributing to the R&D processes of a start-up
